for Every Student at NCC
The following programs at NCC are funded by the Foundation. Our innovative programs are designed to keep pace with emerging fields of study and respond to the needs of local employers.
A makerspace is a place where people can come together to create and explore. The NCC makerspace is a large workplace, lined with supplies, tools, 3-D printers, a laser cutter, and centered by an expansive work table. There, students gather to receive instruction, sketch out ideas, exchange knowledge, and bring their ideas to life.
Started in 2017, the Veterinary Technician program was born from a shortage of veterinarians and veterinary technicians in Connecticut. Aligning educational programs to meet the needs of local employers is integral to the Foundation’s work. Graduates from the program are already working in local veterinary clinics.
Summer Bridge Math
This program is designed for incoming high school students who have placed into remedial math. The goal is to improve students’ mathematics skills, and help them save time and money by moving into college credit courses.
Mentoring & Coaching
The Foundation provides comprehensive mentoring and coaching services designed to support students in all aspects of their academic experience.
Academically enriching and entertaining special events foster a sense of community at NCC. Foundation sponsored events include the Academic Festival, NCC Talks, the Common Read, the spring musical, the Lumina String Quartet, and the Cultural Diversity & Inclusion speaker series.
Student Emergency Fund
Unexpected emergencies can prevent students from being able to attend school or complete courses. When needed, the Foundation can step in to help students.
