On June 4, 2018, Carrie L. Bernier of Darien, Conn. assumed the position of Executive Director, Norwalk Community College Foundation.
Bernier has served as the Executive Director of The Community Fund of Darien for the past five years. She has worked in the non-profit area since 1994 as an advocate, board member and employee. Carrie also has practiced law for several years as a Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney, family attorney and general litigator.
“The Foundation Board of Directors and staff are looking forward to welcoming Carrie in June”, said Stuart Weismiller Foundation President. “She brings a keen understanding of the role of a Foundation in our community and has a reputation for thinking big and getting the job done.”
Carrie holds a B.A. in Sociology from Boston College, a Master’s Certificate from University of Massachusetts and a J.D. Degree from Pace University School of Law. In 2014-2015, she was selected to participate in the “Trajectory Leadership Program for Executive Directors” through the Support Center for Non-Profit Management in N.Y.
