Scholarships for while you’re studying at CT State Norwalk

The Foundation offers two scholarships for current students: an academic year scholarship and a Spring semester scholarship.

Non-Credit Certificate Awards

This scholarship is open to all current CT State Norwalk students who are taking non-credit-bearing certificate program at CT State Community College Norwalk. Each eligible student may receive of 80% of tuition coverage (only 1 program at the time) and 1 book per course. Your award is based on your unmet need.

When to apply

The Spring 24 Semester Scholarship application is closed now. The Fall 2024 semester scholarship application will open in spring of 2024. Please read carefully all the information below.

To apply you must:

  • Be enrolled in a non-credit-bearing certificate program at CT State Community College Norwalk
  • Have unmet need
  • Must NOT have failed any previous courses

Decisions will be made on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Funds may be limited.

The NCC Foundation will notify you by email once all applications are reviewed with a decision. If you were selected to receive a scholarship, you will be requested to submit your Post-Acceptance agreement and a Thank You note to the donors. The Post-Acceptance agreement and Thank You note are required in order for you to receive a scholarship. Once the Post-Acceptance agreement is submitted, the Business Office will receive a request to apply your award to your student account.

How to get help

Academic Year Scholarship Information

This scholarship provides tuition assistance for the entire academic year, including winter and summer intersessions if you choose to take classes. If you receive PACT, you will be eligible for books ONLY.

When to apply

The 2023-2024 Academic Year Scholarship application is closed now. Next available cycle will open in the Spring of 2024. Come back later to see any updates. Please read carefully all the information below.

What you need

The scholarship is open to all current CT State Community College Norwalk students who have not earned a prior associate degree at NCC (legacy), or a bachelor’s or higher degree at any US institution.

Students of any citizenship may apply (includes US citizens, US permanent residents, international students (F-1 VISA), and students without US citizenship or residency)

To apply you must:

      • Have declared Norwalk as home campus
      • Be enrolled in a certificate or a degree program available at Norwalk
      • Declare a major at Norwalk (General Studies, LAS etc. count)
      • Have 12 to 64 credits earned (that count towards your degree)
      • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
      • Take minimum 6 credits in each the Fall and Spring semesters

If you are:
A US Citizen or Permanent Resident > Complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA and submit it with the Financial Aid Office
An International Student > upload a copy of your current I-20
NOT eligible for FAFSA > upload an Income Verification Form

      • Create a new account* (if it’s your first time applying via SmarterSelect) or log in using the existing account credentials.
      • *Put your PERSONAL email in.

*NOTE: Do NOT use your Banner ID ([email protected]) as your e-mail address. You can find your CT State e-mail on myCTState (e.g. [email protected]).

      • Select a password. It does not have to be the same as your school password. Write it down to remember for getting in to the application in the future.
        You will get a link to your email to confirm. Make sure you check your Junk folder and have your Focused folder off. Once you confirm, you should get right in.
      • Review the eligibility.
      • Answer ALL questions even if they do not apply to you. Put an X or N/A in those.
      • Upload each required document. (NOTE: incomplete uploads or wrong documents will be considered as an incomplete application!)
      • Review everything once again and then SUBMIT your application.

The NCC Foundation will notify you by email once all applications are reviewed with a decision. If you were selected to receive a scholarship, you will be requested to submit your Post-Acceptance agreement and a Thank You note to the donors. The Post-Acceptance agreement and Thank You note are required in order for you to receive a scholarship. Spring Semester Scholarship Information

 

This scholarship provides tuition assistance for the Spring semester ONLY, including summer intersession if you choose to take classes, and it is open to all current CT State Community College Norwalk students who have NOT already received a scholarship this year. Your award is based on the number of credits you enroll in and complete this spring, and your unmet need. If you receive PACT, you will ONLY be eligible for books.

When to apply

The Spring 2024 Semester Scholarship application is closed now. The Spring 2025 Only scholarship application will open in fall of 2024. Please read carefully all the information below.

What you need
