Scholarships for while you’re studying at NCC

The Foundation offers two scholarships for current students: an academic year scholarship and a Spring semester scholarship.

Students entering NCC

This scholarship is for the 2023-2024 Academic Year, and open to all current CT State Norwalk students who just started their journey at CT State Community College Norwalk, have NOT already received a scholarship this year, and have not earned a prior associate degree at NCC (legacy), or a bachelor’s or higher degree at any US institution.

Each student can receive $500 per semester for max. 2 semesters. If you receive PACT, you will be eligible for books ONLY.

When to apply

The 2023-2024 Academic Year Scholarship application is closed now. Next available cycle will open in November/December 2023. Come back later to see any updates. Please read carefully all the information below.

To apply you must:

  • Be enrolled in a degree or credit certificate program
  • Declare a major (General Studies, LAS etc. count)
  • Have 0 to 12 credits earned (that count towards your degree)
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (if applicable)
  • Take at least 6 credits or more each the Fall and the Spring semesters at Norwalk Campus (that count towards your degree)

If you are:
A US Citizen or Permanent Resident > Complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA and submit it with the Financial Aid Office
An International Student > upload a copy of your current I-20
NOT eligible for FAFSA > upload Income Verification Form

The NCC Foundation will contact you once all applications are reviewed then request you to submit a Post-Acceptance and a Thank You note to the donors. This part is required to receive a scholarship! Once the post-acceptance is submitted, the Business Office will receive a request to apply all awards to your student account.

New Beginnings Scholarship

This scholarship is for the entire academic year, and open to all current CT State Norwalk students who are seeking to earn a 2nd degree at CT State Community College Norwalk, have NOT already received a scholarship this year, and have not earned a prior master’s or higher degree at any US institution. Your award is based on the number of credits you enroll in and complete each semester, and your unmet need. If you receive PACT, you will be eligible for books ONLY.

When to apply

The 2023-2024 New Beginnings Scholarship application is closed now. Next available cycle will open in November/December 2023. Come back later to see any updates. Please read carefully all the information below.

To apply you must:

  • Be enrolled in a credit certificate or degree program
  • Declare a major (General Studies, LAS etc. count)
  • Have 12 to 30 (Spring Only cycle)/64 credits earned (that count towards your degree)
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Take minimum 6 credits in each the Fall and Spring semesters

If you are:
A US Citizen or Permanent Resident > Complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA and submit it with the Financial Aid Office
An International Student > upload a copy of your current I-20
NOT eligible for FAFSA > upload Income Verification Form

ESL Awards

This scholarship is for the Fall 23 semester, and open to all current CT State Norwalk students who are enrolled in both non credit and credit/blended ESL courses. Each eligible student may receive a tuition coverage up to 2 main classes (Reading/Writing and Grammar 30-50, Conversation Circles 36-76, Integrated Skills I-V, Grammar I-IV or Communications I-IV ONLY) and 1 book per class (maximum 2 books).

When to apply

To apply you must:

  • Be enrolled in a non-credit and credit-bearing ESL programs at CT State Community College Norwalk Campus
  • Be accepted for a minimum Reading/Writing 30 level
  • Must have NOT failed any previous courses

Decisions are being made on ‘first come, first served’ basis throughout the summer.

The NCC Foundation will contact you once your application is reviewed then may request you to submit a Post-Acceptance and a Thank You note to the donors. This part is required to receive a scholarship! Once the post-acceptance is submitted, the Business Office will receive a request to apply all awards to your student account.

Non-Credit Certificate Awards

This scholarship is for the Fall 23 semester, and open to all current CT State Norwalk students who are taking non-credit-bearing certificate program at CT State Community College Norwalk. Each eligible student may receive of 80% of tuition coverage (only 1 program at the time) and 1 book per course. Your award is based on your unmet need.

When to apply

To apply you must:

  • Be enrolled in a non-credit-bearing certificate program at CT State Community College Norwalk
  • Have unmet need
  • Must have NOT failed any previous courses

Decisions are being made on ‘first come, first served’ basis throughout the summer.

      • Have 12 to 64 Credits earned (that count towards your degree)
      • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
      • Take minimum 6 credits in each the Fall and Spring semesters

If you are:

The 2023 Spring Semester Scholarship application period has ended. Next application period will be open again in November/December, 2023. Please check back then for more information.
