
Scholarships for while you’re studying at NCC
The Foundation offers two scholarships for current students: an academic year scholarship and a Spring semester scholarship.
Students entering NCC
This scholarship is for the Spring semester, and open to all current NCC students who just started their journey at Norwalk Community College, have NOT already received a scholarship this year, and have not earned a prior associate degree at NCC, or a bachelor’s or higher degree at any US institution.
Each student can receive $500 per semester for max. 2 semesters.
When to apply
The 2023 Spring Semester Scholarship application period has ended. Next application period will be open again in the spring, 2023. Please check back then for more information.
To apply you must:
- Be enrolled in a degree or credit certificate program
- Declare a major (General Studies, LAS etc. count)
- Be enrolled in minimum 6 credits the fall semester at NCC (that count towards your degree)
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (at the end of the semester)
- Take at least six credits or more in the Spring semester
New Beginnings Scholarship
This scholarship is for the Spring semester, and open to all current NCC students who are seeking to earn a 2nd degree at Norwalk Community College, have NOT already received a scholarship this year, and have not earned a prior master’s or higher degree at any US institution. Your award is based on the number of credits you enroll in and complete this spring, and your unmet need.
When to apply
The 2023 Spring Semester Scholarship application period has ended. Next application period will be open again in the spring, 2023. Please check back then for more information.
To apply you must:
- Be enrolled in a credit certificate or degree program
- Declare a major (General Studies, LAS etc. count)
- Have 12 to 30/68 Credits earned at NCC (that count towards your degree)
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Take minimum 6 credits in each the Fall and Spring semester
If you are:
A US Citizen or Permanent Resident > Complete the 2022-2023 FAFSA and submit it with the Financial Aid Office
An International Student > upload a copy of your current I-20
ESL Awards
This scholarship is for the Spring semester, and open to all current NCC students who are enrolled in both non credit and credit/blended ESL courses. Each eligible student may receive a tuition coverage up to 2 main classes (Reading/Writing and Grammar or Conversation Circles/Oral Communication ONLY) and 1 book per class.
When to apply
The 2023 Spring Semester Scholarship application period has ended. Next application period will be open again in the spring, 2023. Please check back then for more information.
To apply you must:
- Be enrolled in a non-credit-bearing ESL program at NCC
- Be accepted for a minimum Reading/Writing 30 level
- Must have NOT failed any previous courses

Non-Credit Certificates Award
This scholarship is for the Spring semester, and open to all current NCC students who are taking non-credit-bearing certificate program at NCC. Each eligible student may receive of 80% of tuition coverage and 1 book per course. Your award is based on your unmet need.
When to apply

To apply you must:
- Be enrolled in a non-credit-bearing certificate program at NCC
- Have unmet need
- Must have NOT failed any previous courses

Academic Year Scholarship Information
This scholarship provides tuition assistance for the entire academic year, including winter and summer intersessions if you choose to take classes. If you receive PACT, you will be eligible for books ONLY.
When to apply
The 2023-2024 Academic Year Scholarship will open June 9, 2023 and close September 8, 2023. Please check back then for more information.
What you need
The scholarship is open to all students who have not earned a prior associate degree at NCC, or a bachelor’s or higher degree at any US institution.
Students of any citizenship may apply (includes US citizens, US permanent residents, international students (F-1 VISA), and students without US citizenship or residency)

- Upload each required document. (NOTE: incomplete uploads or wrong documents will be considered as an incomplete application!)
- Review everything once again and then SUBMIT your application.

The NCC Foundation will contact you once all applications are reviewed then request you to submit a Post-Acceptance and a Thank You note to the donors. This part is required to receive a scholarship! Once the post-acceptance is submitted, the Financial Aid Office will receive a request to apply all awards to your NCC student account.

You can expect to hear from us in January. It is possible than we may request you to submit more information before the decision is made! The NCC Foundation will contact you once all applications are reviewed then request you to submit a Post-Acceptance and a Thank You note to the donors. This part is required to receive a scholarship!
