The Foundation is grateful and proud of the new partnership established this year with Bridgewater Associates.  Bridgewater Scholars piloted a uniquely personal mentoring group designed to bring together professional women from Bridgewater and high-achieving NCC Foundation scholarship women for a series of experiential workshops on topics such as essential business skills, business small talk, key traits of successful people, and balancing work and personal lives. Though we aren’t completely surprised, the best take-away from the program was how quickly the women got real with one another. They didn’t waste any time in opening up about both personal and professional challenges, and the group quickly formed a close bond.

Originally scheduled to take place on both the Bridgewater and NCC campuses throughout the spring semester, after initial meetings at each location, the meetings transitioned seamlessly online thanks to the dedication of all involved (above, a photo from the recent final Zoom meeting).
One of the Foundation scholars who participated shared this message in a thank you letter for Bridgewater: “From the very first meeting, the atmosphere was professional and at the same time very warm…We received a chance to practice our skills with our mentors simulating different situations, and sometimes it wasn’t easy. I have seen my mistakes and areas I could improve on. The workshops gave me an opportunity to fix and develop my skills…I cannot say thank you enough times.”
